The quality is there and it is a huge improvement over the inferior plastic guard. I don't really want to trash the product because I do love it...but....do yourself a favor and get the wide trigger also with this product. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the factory metal one so I didn't get the wider one they have to go with this guard. The guard they send you is made for the wider trigger and is NOT machined for the factory trigger! They supply you with nylon spacer washers to make it fit and I had to file them down to get the trigger to not bind up, as stated in the directions. IMO it is a rig job when they should have make a separate guard to fit the factory trigger. Sorry, but I'm just giving my honest opinion. I'll still give it 5 stars because it is what my marlin needed and the quality is superior.

I bought this to replace the cheap plastic OEM trigger guard on my 70PSS Papoose. Wanted to get the silver guard and trigger combo kit but it was out of stock so I went with this silver guard plus a black trigger. Glad I did because I kind of like the color combination. NOTE - it has been pointed out by others that the instructions are wrong as far as driving the pins out of the OEM guard. In my case one (the middle one) went left to right. Another issue I had was getting the stock safety button into the DIP guard. It wouldn't fit until I burnished the hole - didn't have to sand it just ran a hardwood dowel though it multiple times. Also getting the threaded DIP safety pin installed over the safety spring and plunger is a bit tricky. SO why five stars? I like it! It looks a lot better and will last a lot longer than the OEM guard. Along with the DIP trigger it eliminated the slop, creep and grittiness of the stock setup. The trigger is now smooth and crisp and feels so much better that the heavy pull is very noticeable (I didn't change any springs.) My next step maybe a spring kit but these DIP parts were well worth the expense.
