Purchased the standard DIP picatinny / weaver style rail to convert from 11 mm dovetail mated with the CZ 455 Varmint Precision Trainer 22 lr, 24" barrel, with a Manners stock, to mount a Sig Sauer Tango 4 scope, 6-24X50mm, 30mm using the Sig Sauer Alpha medium height rings. Mounted the rail forward and flush with the front of the receiver at the barrel interface using a precision ground flat calibration block, then using small increments of tightening outside to inside screws evenly until firmly finger tight. Installed it in the cool comfort of the house in the evening at 67 deg F then tossing it into the truck cab at 106 deg F and shooting for hours in hot weather and 500 rounds later NO movement of the rail or scope. Shooting patterns held true at 50 yards and boringly very repeatable. Used 6x power which really is too high for 50 yards. Ultimately sighted it in at 100 yards which held 1 MOA groups. Used this same configuration at 200 yards using the reticle lower three major MOA subtensions and dialing in elevation I found the scope to not have enough dial. Leading to this purchase of the 25 MOA DIP rail. Went back and tried 50 yards using the reticle first major subtension at 50 yard sight in, then using the center of the crosshairs (normally) 100 yards, and finally using the center of the crosshairs and dialing 20 MOA for 200 yards and 2 MOA groups followed! Definitely recommend this rail to anyone who would like to push limits of the 22 lr. I have purchased a second 455 and have fitted both with DIP rails, magazine wells, well block, extended magazine release and the matt finish one-piece trigger guard. DIP promptly shipped my expedited parts so I was able to get my project done as scheduled. Great machining and finish quality. Many Thanks to DIP ! ! ! !
