Fits nice and works great once you figure out how it goes on/in which took a while and factory spring is tedious if you have big fingers/hands like I do. Video on YouTube helps but he kind of skips the actual install but it’s such a small area and tiny pieces it would be almost impossible to video actually putting it in. All in all it’s a big improvement over the factory piece and works great with the DIP metal trigger guard. It’s a great upgrade…

Much-Much better than the OEM mag release. If DIP had the bottom metal, I'd probably buy that as well. DIP is cool!

Does Exactly what it is supposed to. Simple to install and another users tip of using a piece of Q Tip to pre assemble and drop into place for final assembly is very helpful. Mag holds tight and I'm looking forward to Not having to search for my dropped mag in the field

This is a follow-up to my last review of the magazine catch. I ordered and installed this with DIP's replacement trigger guard. What a difference in looks and functionality. The increased spring tension of the mag catch with the trigger guard makes it work the way Howa should have designed it in the first place. Dropped magazines in the snow while hunting will be a thing of the past! Yes, it happened twice last year!

Ordered this the other week and as usual my item was very promptly shipped. The extended mag catch was very nicely finished and went into factory trigger guard easily. Here's the rub. My plastic factory trigger guard wouldn't let the magazine catch lie flat against the mag well. Some cautious trimming with an exacto knife remedied the problem. It now works fine although not completely lying flat. To make my gun look the way I wanted, I decided to just order DIP's aluminum replacement trigger guard. While the DIP magazine catch did work so much better than the factory, I expect DIP's trigger guard to be better yet when it gets here. No more dropped mags!!

Oh man. This little gem saved the day. No more dropped mags. You can actually carry the firearm at point of balance. The mag is not going to pop out. I came up with a little helper. I cut a small piece of Q Tip to hold the tension spring in place. The pushed a punch though to hold it all in place. Drive the pin through and you're done. 5 minute install. Great product and fast service. Thank you.
