What a fantastic mount - this thing is rock solid. The dovetail on the rifle meshes precisely with the mount and takes a bit of persuasion to install - I applied a bit of gun oil to the rifle dovetail, started the mount onto the dovetail by hand approximately 1/2" or so and then GENTLY tapped the mount into position with a length of 1" dowel rod, but once installed it is very secure. Just make sure the mount is properly aligned before tapping it into position. I am much more comfortable with this mount than the less expensive mounts that are secured only by the strength of the three small screws. Do yourself a huge favor and spend the money for this mount, you won't be sorry.
